What We Do:
Avionics/ESE MRB Engineering is responsible for evaluating avionics & electrical system discrepancies during large cabin aircraft manufacturing, test, and flight, while providing solutions that maintain airworthiness requirements for certification and entry into service.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Performs flight data analytics for more effective aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting and to make informed data-driven decisions in investigations
- Develops solutions to a variety of problems of varying scope and complexity following established Company and FAA policies and practices
- Coordinate fault isolation efforts with other MRB disciplines within the organization when applicable
- Communicate new issues/trends with Electrical Systems & Avionics Design Engineers
- Revise test specifications related to Avionics & Electrical systems for large cabin aircraft
- Interpret engineering drawings and facilitated correction of errors on drawings & test documents identified during aircraft build and test
- Provide technical consultation to the manufacturing & test teams as well as external vendors/suppliers
- Communicate with Gulfstream Flight Operations (Pilots), providing updates on recurring and/or newly discovered issues

Desired / Unique Skills
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology (or equivalent) required
- Good communication skills
- Previous Avionics/Electrical Systems experience with Gulfstream or other aerospace OEMs preferred
- Previous experience in a production and/or test environment
- Ability to understand/interpret electrical schematics/diagrams
- Knowledge of avionics/electrical systems and/or digital communication protocols
- Good fault isolation and problem solving skills
- Previous experience with technical writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word
- Shift Coverage flexibility
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 ys in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

- Provides specialized technical assistance to team members .
- Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems .
- Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives .
- Works under limited supervision; work should only be required. to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives .
- Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area .
Additional Functions:
- Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
- Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
- The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
