Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a motivated and qualified entry-level traffic engineer to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be able to oversee projects in the public and private sectors of varying sizes and complexity for the Traffic Planning Department.


Responsibilities

  • Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in a specific practice area.
  • Apply learned techniques, procedures and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
  • Assist with other project related tasks such as, permit applications, material testing, drawings and CAD work.
  • Exercise judgment on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned.
  • Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.

Typical projects include the following elements:

  • Traffic Impact Studies.
  • OT Access Permitting.
  • Parking Studies.
  • Traffic Calming Design.
  • Conceptual Roadway Design.
  • Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Design.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-3 years experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work on multiple tasks at once.
  • Must thrive in a team setting and have a great attitude.
