Intake Coordinator

Under the direction of the Director of Intake, the Intake Coordinator is responsible for coordinating aspects of the intake/assessment process and providing excellent direct patient care. The responsibilities include efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, processing of referrals for possible admission, knowledge of and maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Additional responsibilities include insurance verification/precertification, patient registration process, patient observations, scheduling of evaluations, admissions processing, bed board monitoring, and other duties as assigned by the intake leadership team.

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is a brand-new behavioral health provider serving Scottsdale and the great Phoenix region. We opened in February 2022 and now offer a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services. Our modern 120-bed facility offers offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.

Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Intake, the Intake Coordinator is responsible for coordinating aspects of the intake/assessment process and providing excellent direct patient care. The responsibilities include efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, processing of referrals for possible admission, knowledge of and maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Additional responsibilities include insurance verification/precertification, patient registration process, patient observations, scheduling of evaluations, admissions processing, bed board monitoring, and other duties as assigned by the intake leadership team.


Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience in social services, community mental/behavioral health, mental- health setting, inpatient setting and performing administrative duties, crisis interventions, and customer service.

Preferred Experience: 2-3 years of experience in social services, community mental/behavioral health, mental-health setting, inpatient setting and performing administrative duties, crisis interventions, and customer service. Prior experience in intake/assessment departments.
