We are seeking entry level and early career college graduates (0 to 4 years of experience) to work in the Water Market for Stanley Consultants. Basic engineering knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment processes is required. Education, training, and demonstrated familiarity with data analytics, machine learning, modeling (treatment process, decision support, risk & resiliency, hydraulic, water quality, process flow, etc.), and smart water systems/networks is particularly desirable. Job Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with engineering tasks such as collection and analysis of data.
  • Prepare calculations and designs of treatment processes, piping, and pumping facilities.
  • Check design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Use computer models to simulate real world conditions.
  • Develop process calculations and hydraulic calculations for water, wastewater, and storm water treatment, distribution, and collection systems.
  • Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and other applicable engineering design tools.
  • Work in collaboration with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD) to support project managers in producing plans and specifications.
  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop asset management plans, utility master plans, and financial rate studies.
  • Support construction phase services which may include review of shop drawings, submittals, participation in progress meetings, as well as construction observation and/or inspection.
  • Assist with development of reports, specifications, and plans for: water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution; wastewater conveyance, pumping and treatment.
  • Interface with equipment suppliers to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations.
  • Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Occasional field work, such as site investigations and client meetings, as well as travel will be required.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in water/wastewater engineering.
  • Must possess a state Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (Fundamentals of Engineering examination).
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both in-person and virtual formats.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate engineering solutions in a multidiscipline engineering team.
  • Strong verbal, computer (MS Office), and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • ArcGIS experience.
  • Exposure to process modeling software such as EnviroSim's BioWin and Hydromantis' GPS-X.

Base Compensation: $61,100 - $78,600
